We'd like to know more about you. Here's your chance to tell the other 1,600-musicians in our community about yourself. Who are you, where do you live, what would you like to get from your experience in this community?
Nobody likes to go first, so I'll start!
I'm Craver. I live in Atlanta and I run OpenMic.US. I play-out about 3-times a week a local bars, restaurants, and private functions. I started playing guitar in 1980. I learned 3-chords from by buddy, Neal, and wrote a song. I've got 2.9-releases done. I host an open mic in Johns Creek, Georgia every Wednesday. I love hanging with musicians and I'd like this community to be an extension of the many musician-friends that I already have. Peace.

Hi, my name is Mike! I go by the stage name The Gentleman Apollo. I've been playing the guitar since 2009, but started taking it serious in 2011. I'm an aspiring artist that is still finding his style and niche in the music world. I have about 15 songs done on a cheap home studio....looking to get in a real studio this coming year and re-record. Im also going to begin open mics, probably this month.
I'd love to chat with musicians in the same struggle as me. We can all learn a lot from eachother! Feel free to hit me up, love to hear from ya!

Permalink Reply by Jack North on February 18, 2012 at 10:59pm My name is Jack North. I have been playing guitar for something like 50 years off and on, but NEVER in front of a group of people! I have acted and performed hundreds of times in plays and on TV and radio, but the thought of playing guitar and singing in front of even 4 or 5 people makes me more nervous than anything.
So I finally did it a couple of weeks ago.
Hadn't planned on it, didn't even take a guitar to the Open Mic event in Lawrenceville, GA. It was a slow night and a really nice guy (I have forgotten his name) offered to let me use his guitar...so, I figured...why not? 3 songs: first was probably terrible, I was nervous as I could be; second was maybe slightly better; but I think I nailed the third.
I think I'm gonna give it another try in a week or two, maybe at John's Creek. I'll be ready this time! :)
